1.5-generation immigrants & college-going
I am a PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at the University of California, Davis. Motivated by my personal experiences of immigrating from Ukraine to the U.S. and learning to navigate college-going with the help of my high school teacher, my current research examines 1.5-generation immigrant youth, like myself--who arrived to the U.S. before age 18--and what factors function as supports and constraints in going to college.
